For dosgames on modern computers the solution is the program dosbox. You're likely not going to be satisfied with gaming in virtual guests anyway. You'd think a lower graphics setting would be easier for it to handle. ![]() Why doesn't it like 256 colour mode? It'll do 16 bit colour mode. When I try to apply the settings without restarting, the screen just goes black and stays that way until I hard restart the guest machine and then Scandisk does it's thing. When I tell it to boot normally, it goes back to 16 colour mode. When I power it back up it says it wasn't properly shut down and wants to start in safe mode. Whenever I try to set the colour mode to 256 and restart it starts to reboot and then powers off. I have to do it manually but the change button it says to click on won't let me click on it.Īlright.got the SVGA driver installed again. ![]() I've tried uninstalling VMware tools and reisntalling them and now the SVGA driver won't install automatically. Every time I try there's some error or other or the guest simply won't boot at all. It'll go into true 16-bit colour mode, but not 256 colour mode. I've checked the device manager and there are sound devices under Other Devices.Īlso, for some reason it won't go into 256 colour mode. ![]()
